Founded and formed just four and a half years ago, Bedfordshire based MIDA Civil Engineering Ltd has experienced rapid growth in its service and client relationship provision to the housebuilding sector.

So much so that it has recently strengthened the business’s own plant fleet holding, with an investment in 33 x new site dumpers from Thwaites.

The order comprises 15 x 9-tonne cabbed machines, 15 x 6-tonne Front Tip cabbed and 3 x 3-tonne power swivel machines. All of which will be deployed on MIDA sites across the home counties, central and eastern England.

The machines in the deal are equally driven by the company’s desire to provide the safest, best-quality dumper on the market to protect their operators, customers and reputation. As it is their clients increasing demand for cabbed dumpers, ahead of the new cab manufacturing standard (EN474 2022 pt6) that comes into effect in early spring of 2025.

Director Daniel Clorley said, “We have made significant recent investments in our Fleet of excavators, and felt the time was now right to move towards having more MIDA owned and branded dumpers on our sites, giving greater control on safety and utilisation whilst enhancing our brand presence. MIDA’s primary objective is the safety of our workforce and our customers. This investment is a demonstration of that commitment.”

Thwaites Distributor Manager Paul Rodwell said, “It was my pleasure to work with Daniel and the team to conclude this significant sale. We share as businesses and individuals so many values, I look forward to further developing our relationship.”

Mr Clorley continued, “We conducted an extensive market review to find the dumper that best matched the needs of our business, and the quality and reliability of the Thwaites machines stood out, we were unanimous in our decision to place the order in full, with Thwaites, via local distributor, Shellplant Sales.”

Thwaites were delighted to welcome Daniel and Plant Fitter, Paul Holt, along with Shellplant Sales Manager Tom Haywood to visit the Thwaites factory, a visit that Mr Clorley commented further on, “ Not many manufacturers offer you a factory tour experience, we are as our business expands looking to build partnerships and meet more of the Thwaites team, all to understand more about what goes into this uniquely built British product”.
