Ammann’s new ART 240 StV Pneumatic-Tyred Roller meets the world’s strictest emissions standards without compromising operation in soil and asphalt applications. The rollers are suited to applications such as motorways, railways, airfields, industrial zones and residential areas. They are powered by EU Stage V/U.S. EPA Tier 4f engines from Deutz with EGR, DOC, SCR and DPF technology for the lowest emissions.
The compactors are versatile, with a ballasting system that offers weight ranges from 9 tonnes to 24 tonnes – unique to the market. Additional ballasting blocks are easy to add to the bottom of the machine frame via forklift. Machine weight can also be increased by adding ballasting materials such as sand, metal scraps, concrete or water inside the machine frame. Total available ballasting space is 3,7m3.
The air-on-the-run system enables tyre pressure control from the cab.
Front pairs of wheels are connected with an isostatic system enabling movement of +/- 50 mm. The comprehensive front axle solution combines +/- 3° wheel oscillation and constant tyre contact, even in difficult terrain.
Intuitive controls simplify handling and operation. The cabin, with two working stations, is spacious and enables optimal visibility – with operator sight lines to the entire jobsite, as well as working areas in the front and the back of the machine.
A maintenance-friendly design minimises downtime. No tools are needed for daily inspections, and there is ground access to the main draining ports.
