Hitachi Construction Machinery has launched a new software development to assist customers and their dealers in the remote monitoring of Hitachi equipment. To build upon the manufacturer’s ConSite remote monitoring solution, the latest innovation, ConSite Air, provides an option to update software and access diagnostics remotely.
OTA Updates
Remote software updates can be carried out without the need to visit the machine and at a more convenient time for the customer. Remote access to diagnostics enables remote assistance, so that the machine can be monitored with Hitachi’s diagnostic tool from anywhere in the world. Both functions will contribute to ensuring maximum uptime for Hitachi construction machinery.
Successful Trials Complete
ConSite Air completed successful trials earlier this year, in which two of HCME’s dealers participated. Nasta in Norway and Kiesel in Germany shared positive feedback, highlighting the time saved by the new technology as it avoids the need to send their mechanics out into the field. They also commented on its user-friendliness, and that it makes it easy to monitor machine issues remotely. Following the completion of the trials, remote software updates are now available on selected machines. The remote access functionality will be available soon and ConSite Air will be extended to a wider range of models at a later date.
Labour Saving
“Until now, our dealers would have had to physically attend the machine to carry out these actions,” says HCME Manager Solution Linkage, Ryo Kurihara. “ConSite Air saves both time and money by enabling this to be carried out remotely, making life easier for both our dealers and their customers, and ensuring optimum working efficiency of Hitachi construction equipment.”
“This latest development is another example of how Hitachi continues to consider the challenges of customers in order to provide solutions that will improve safety, increase productivity and reduce life-cycle costs.”
