This makes a change from a bright yellow backhoe – seeing the familiar machine in an unfamiliar colour seems strange. Scottish civil engineering and plant hire firm, GBSS Civils & Plant Hire has bought a new JCB 3CX Pro decked in striking black livery with red and gold details. Now, the new machine is turning heads across central Scotland for its looks and is impressing the operator with its performance.
Replacing a limited edition JCB 70th Anniversary backhoe loader, the new 3CX Pro has been fully utilised since delivery, working on a large-scale school building and housing development project in East Calder. The backhoe supplied by dealer Scot JCB is carrying out stockpiling, loading, excavating and cleaning duties on site with interchangeable bucket, pallet fork and sweeper attachments.
George Burns, GBSS Co-Founder commented, “Scot JCB’s service support is second to none and this magnificent paint job is the latest example. Our highly skilled operator is delighted with the machine and says it is stunning to look at and even better than its predecessor with greater speed and performance. And when it comes to digging, he believes there is no better backhoe on the market.”
Established in 1994 as George Burns Plant Hire, the independent family business is run by husband-and-wife team George and Fiona Burns. Now operating separate plant hire and civil engineering divisions, the company runs a fleet of 75 machines and offers a full range of services including plant hire, groundworks, pre-construction advice, construction, commissioning and maintenance works across the private and public sectors.
