David Forgie established his business in 1974 alongside his wife Honor in Limavady. He chose to sell Kubota machinery primarily due to the quality of the products and reliability, which are key fundamental factors that has helped them build a fantastic reputation. Originally, they started off with a small range of Kubota ground care equipment which proved to be very successful. This has been complimented over the years by the addition of the full range of construction machines, M Series tractors and more recently the portfolio of Kubota implements.
Based on David’s desire to provide first class customer service and aftersales to the Northern Irish market, the business continues to develop and grow today with two of David’s four daughters, Susan and Ria Forgie being instrumental in the day to day running of the business. Susan works in After Sales with Ria assisting the accounts team as well as managing their second branch which is located in Lisburn.
As market leader in mini excavators in Northern Ireland, with over 1600 construction machines sold since the start of the partnership, DA Forgie and Kubota continue to build their relationship on dedication, reliability and extraordinary customer service.
Sales which stand out from over the years include selling a Kubota excavator to a local gin company to help in their gin production process. Another would be the application of Kubota RTVs and excavators on the Game of Thrones set which was filmed close by on Binevenagh mountain.
Through working closely with Kubota, DA Forgie have had multiple trips to Kubota’s global headquarters which is located in Osaka Japan. Ria Forgie commented “Trips to Japan have always been excellent to see the investment that Kubota has continuously been putting into their business”.
Rob White Construction Manager for Kubota UK commented: “On behalf of the entire team at Kubota, I would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to DA Forgie for reaching this milestone. We are proud to be standing alongside them representing the Northern Irish market for Kubota and witnessing their business thrive into what it is now. Here’s to 25 years of a successful partnership and many more years to come, congratulations”.
When it comes to Kubota excavators DA Forgie have one important yet easily forgotten about piece of advice.
