You’re in the right place – if you haven’t decided yet between a scissor lift, a boom lift or a simple personnel lift, then all of these are shown here under the aerial platform category. All manufacturers have lifts listed for sale and at auction and these pages are updated daily. If you know the type of lift you are looking for, then drill down to the sub category below to browse the extensive lists of machines available across the UK. Remember, when buying an access platform, you need to consider the maximum working height you are likely to need – don’t buy one too large ‘just in case’ as you will have to pay more to transport this larger machine around. Think too about the weight of what will be lifted – not just a load, but the personnel on the lift as well. How should the machine be powered? If it is working inside then electric beats diesel every day – as with all machinery, the march towards a totally electric access platform industry is under way in any case. The large question is boom vs scissor lift. A boom lift can typically lift a lot higher than a scissor lift – scissor lifts can reach heights of between 20–50ft, whereas a boom lift aerial platform can easily make it to 185ft. If you have heavier items to lift and are happy to simply go up and down, then you should be considering a scissor lift aerial platform.
