If you are looking for used Manitou machines for sale then these pages contain hundreds – all in stock and ready to buy from plant dealers and upcoming auctions across the UK. Renowned for their extensive telehandler range, Manitou has been pushing forward with other machines in recent years. Their range now consists of telehandlers, loaders, access platforms and forklifts. The French company started out making all terrain forklifts in 1958, but it is the telehandler market where they have their most success in the UK after launching the range in 1981. To understand the model numbering, the MRT is a rotating telehandler, the MHT is the construction range of telehandlers and the MLT range is for telehandlers for agricultural use. The numbering in the model number uses the first number for the lifting height, say 6 or 7 metres. The second two numbers are for the maximum capacity, a 25 being 2.5 tonnes and a 35 being 3.5 tonnes. The final set of numbers are for the HP of the machine. So, an MLT 625-75 would be an agricultural machine with a 6 metre lifting height, maximum capacity of 2500kgs and a 75HP engine. Manitou articulated loaders have the model letters MLA, whilst the all terrain forklifts simply use an ‘M’. If you find a TMM model then it is for a truck mounted forklift.
