Here’s some background information to help you decide. The Conventional tail swing JCB 8008 mini excavator is the smallest in JCB’s range of excavators.  Designed for small landscaping jobs, its compact size means it can fit through the side gates of most houses and is easy to transport from one site to another with a transport weight of around 800kgs. To help the digger fit through the smallest of gaps, the undercarriage retracts to a maximum width of just 700mm which can be extended to add stability when working to 865mm. The manufacturer understands that the operators of these machines may not always be as experienced as for larger machines. As a consequence, all hoses are protected by routing them through the boom itself. Many class the 8008 CTS as a micro-excavator, but at Plant Pages we categorise these still in the mini-excavator class. With 9kW of power, the machine has enough grunt for many jobs which it tackles with a class-leading dig depth and reach.
