The telehandler was invented as far back as the 1970s by our very own JCB with their Loadall range. Since this time, the telehandler has gone from strength to strength and is a firm favourite with the nation’s farmers. In more recent times, construction companies have become aware of the benefits of the telescopic handler and they have become commonplace on the UK’s building sites. Despite a number of companies such as Merlo and Manitou specialising in telehandlers, by far and away the most popular range of telehandlers for sale in the UK is JCB’s Loadall range. The company has continued to develop their product with around 250,000 of them produced and can now even offer an electric version of their telescopic handler. It is hard to categorise these machines, as they are forklifts but, through the addition of bespoke attachments they can turn into bucket loaders, snow ploughs, personnel lifts and much more.
