When specifying new, buyers of the JCB JS220 LC (Long Carriage) could choose between a monoboom or a TAB (Triple Articulated Boom). The latest model was launched in 2013 and has since been replaced by JCB's latest new generation X Series machine the 220X. Powered by a 129kW EcoMAX T4i/Stage 3B engine, the later post 2013 model saw fuel consumption improvements of some 105 compared to the earlier models. Launched in 2005, the JCB JZ140 was the first of the larger excavators to have the zero tail swing treatment by JCB. The JZ140's original standard spec for UK operators includes a 4.7 m monoboom, 2.5 m dipper and 700 mm triple grousers and it can use all the popular JS130 buckets and attachments.
