Welcome to the advanced plant auction search page at Plantpages. Use the filters to refine the search to find your ideal used machine at auction. Our database is updated on a daily basis from most major plant machinery auction houses across the UK. Remember, these are to go under the hammer and are not for general sale. Please enquire of the advertiser the details of the sale, but they are usually unable to give any information regarding reserve prices or to sell the machines prior to the auction. If you would like the added peace of mind that comes from buying from a machinery dealer, then select ‘machinery for sale‘ from the main menu. If you enquire about one of these machines, please remember to mention Plantpages to the seller.
When buying a piece of machinery from auction it is important to remember that a buyer’s fee is usually added to the hammer price. Make sure that you have the ability to pay the full amount or at least to leave a hefty deposit. The machine that you have bought at auction will have to be collected in a matter of days, so make sure you have the funds available before bidding.
Auctions can be nerve racking places when buying a piece of equipment that is going to represent your livelihood and may well be taking up a large part of your savings. Please keep your head and do not keep bidding under any circumstance. Too dear is too dear.
Take the time to inspect the machine prior to placing a bid. The machine may look right, but make sure that you hear it operating and driving – try and talk to the auction staff who may have had the machine on site for some while.
Remember that the comeback from buying at auction is no the same as if you are buying from a dealer.
So know what you are buying, how you are paying for it and how you are going to collect it.
